SMS Terms and Opt-In Consent

Last updated August 20, 2026. This page describes exactly how CascadeAnswer obtains consent before sending any text message, what we send, and how to stop. CascadeAnswer, Calvin Riley II, sole proprietor, 3521 NW Dahlia Drive, Camas, WA 98607, (360) 787-9359.

Text messaging is not live yet. CascadeAnswer does not currently send any text messages. This page describes the program as it will operate when texting launches, and is published so that carriers, customers and callers can review it in advance. Until then, call details are delivered by email and by transfer to the business owner.

CascadeAnswer will never send marketing, promotional, or unsolicited text messages. Every message we send is a direct reply to a phone call or text that the recipient initiated to a business we answer for, or a message a business owner explicitly asked us to send them.

Who we are

CascadeAnswer is an AI front-desk service operated by Calvin Riley II, sole proprietor, based in Camas, Washington. We answer the business phone line for home-service companies (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, garage door, pest control, and similar trades) 24 hours a day, capture caller details, and deliver those details to the business owner.

How consent will be obtained

1. Callers to a business we answer for (verbal opt-in)

Consent is obtained verbally at the start of the call. A consumer dials a business's published phone number. Our assistant answers and states a disclosure before collecting any information:

"Thanks for calling [Business Name]. You're speaking with a virtual assistant, and this call is recorded and transcribed so we get your details right. How can I help?"

Before any text message is sent, the assistant asks for consent explicitly and proceeds only on an affirmative answer. Sample verbal consent collection:

Assistant: "So I don't lose you if we get disconnected, can I text you at this number with updates about this service request? You'll get about one to three messages about this job only. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP any time to opt out."

Caller: "Yes, that's fine."

Assistant: "Great, I've got you down for texts about this request. Now, what's going on?"

If the caller declines, no text is ever sent to that number. The disclosure and the consent question are part of the fixed greeting configuration rather than something an operator can skip. Consent covers only service messages about that specific request. It is never used for marketing.

2. Missed and abandoned calls (consumer-initiated contact)

When a consumer calls a business we answer for and the call ends before it is completed (the caller hangs up, or the line drops), we send a single text back to the number that placed the call. The consumer initiated contact with the business by dialing it. The text acknowledges their call and offers to continue. It contains no marketing content and includes opt-out instructions.

3. Business owners (written opt-in)

Business owners who want text messages from us give written consent during onboarding, after they have spoken with us directly. There are two separate opt-ins, one for new lead alerts and one for account notifications, and a business owner may agree to either, both, or neither. Consent is optional, is never a condition of purchase, and stands alone: it is never bundled with acceptance of our Privacy Policy, our Terms of Service, or any other agreement.

What we send

Message typeExample
Missed-call text back (to a consumer)"Hi, this is the answering service for Simpson Plumbing. We just missed your call. Reply here with your address and what's going on and we'll get you on the schedule. Reply STOP to opt out."
Appointment confirmation (to a consumer)"Confirming: Simpson Plumbing will be out Thursday between 9 and 11am at 412 NE 3rd Ave. Reply C to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out."
New lead alert (to a business owner)"New call 7:42pm: Maria Gomez, 360-555-0134, 88 SW Birch St. Water heater leaking, wants someone tomorrow AM."

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends entirely on the recipient's own activity. A consumer who calls a business once typically receives one to three messages related to that single service request. Business owners receive one message per inbound call to their line. We do not send recurring campaigns, newsletters, or broadcasts of any kind.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. CascadeAnswer does not charge consumers for text messages. Carrier charges are between the recipient and their mobile carrier.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message from a CascadeAnswer-operated number to stop all further texts from that number immediately. We send one final confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and then nothing further.

Reply HELP to any message to receive our contact information and a link to this page. You can also email hello@cascadeanswer.com at any time.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. Call details are shared only with the specific business the consumer contacted, and with the telephony, email and cloud infrastructure providers required to operate the service.
